THE GUARDIANS
The Guardians is very much a work in progress. When visiting museums, I often find myself photographing statues and other "uncanny" representations of human beings, so often portrayed in rapt or meditative states. I began constructing settings for these often context-less beings, and became attracted to the idea of guardians, whether as very local, household deities (like the Roman lares et penates), guardian angels, spirits of place, or any other entity charged with a protective, apotropaic duty.
